JUAN CAALReporting: There was an armed robbery on Tuesday night in Punta Gorda town.
Reports are that it happened around 9 o’clock last night at the Mali Apple Bar in the Indianville area.
The owner of the establishment Olga Reyes says that three men, described as being of dark complexion and carrying knives, held her up.
The assailants reportedly made off with about $150 in cash.
Reports from PG say that police carried out an extensive search of the area following the armed robbery and have detained three suspects, pending charges.

The Rotary Club of Belize, Sunrise, in conjunction with Body 2000 is hosting a Track and Field Meet this coming Saturday in Belize City.
The event is scheduled to start at 8:30 am at the Marion Jones Sport Complex on Princess Margaret Drive and will include Sprints, Long Distance runs, Long and Triple Jumps and Shot Put Throws.
Organizers say that small cash prizes will be offered to first place winners in the Junior and Senior categories.
Persons interested in taking part in the Saturday's Track and Field Meet are asked to contact Kandice Laurian Morrison at telephone number 620-5049 or via Facebook.
Athletes from outside of Belize City who wish to take part in the event area also asked to contact Kandice to make arrangements for transportation.
A bus is scheduled to travel from Dangriga to Belize City for those wishing to attend and take part in the Track and Field Meet.
The sixth annual Organic Fair, organized by Sustainable Harvest International, takes place this Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1 in Punta Gorda town.
On Friday from 8 am to 11 am there will be an Organic Forum at the PG Multi-Purpose building.
Friday afternoon between 2 pm and 4 pm there will be visits to organic farms.
Then on Saturday, there will be display and information booths at the PG Central Park where the general public can come out to learn more about Organic Farming.
